Attorney Joseph P. Mullen
Joe Mullen is a seasoned, erudite attorney bringing 45+ years experience in real estate and transactional law. The firm benefits from Joe’s significant fluency in civil litigation practices and procedures, along with his affinity for legal writing. His expertise stretches across all aspects of commercial and residential real estate transactions, including commercial lease negotiations, commercial and residential real estate closings, condominium homeowner associations, residential subdivision developers, private mortgage transactions, loan modifications, and well beyond.
A small business owner for nearly four decades, Joe understands the value of strong relationships and exceptional client experiences. He established his law practice, Mullen and Bizzarro, P.A., in 1981 to serve South Florida’s Gold Coast community, in addition to real estate projects around the state. In 1991, he expanded his team and services through the founding of Colonial Title, a boutique full-service title insurance agency.
Highlighting his deep South Florida roots, Joe was selected to serve for three years as Attorney for the Town of Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, Florida, representing residents and business owners in this vibrant, tourist-driven seaside community. A Philadelphia native, Joe and his wife of 41 years, Mary, live in Ft. Lauderdale. They enjoy spending time with their children and granddaughter, traveling, reading, entertaining, and local high school sports.
A U.S. Military Veteran, Joe served in the U.S. Army from 1966 – 1968, where he was stationed in Ludwigsburg, Germany. He received his Juris Doctor from Georgetown Law Center, and a B.S. Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He spent a year as a baseball recruit at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, before being sidelined by an injury.
